Who is Mahathir, former Prime Minister of Malaysia?

Mahathir tells NATO: Send Ground Troops to Kosovo!

We repost a wire from Associated Press, 12 April 1999

Datuk Seri Dr Mahathir Mohamad, otherwise known as Mahathir, is once again posing as the Great Opponent of Imperialism.  He blames all the problems of Muslims, real and imaginary, on the West and he blames the West on - "The Jews." This is nothing new.  Hitler also railed against Western Imperialism, and Hitler also blamed "The Jews."  Notably, even as Hitler railed, the rearmament of Germany was financed by the Western but very-un-Jewish Union Bank of New Jersey, controlled by Averill Harriman with the assistance of President Bush's grandfather and great grandfather, and by the un-Jewish Allen Dulles's law firm of Sullivan and Cromwell.

In the case of Kosovo, Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir's role was to support the NATO bombing by mobilizing public opinion for even harsher action. As we shall document shortly, Mahathir came to power 33 years ago by inciting ethnic Malays against ethnic Chinese in Malaysia. Hitler would be proud.

The AP story below repeats the usual lie that Serbian government forces targeted Albanian civilians in Kosovo. The real story is explained by Kosovo historian Cedomir Prlincevic in the interview, "Why Albanians Fled Kosovo During NATO's 1999 Bombing - the Truth about what Happened, " at

It's one of the most important articles on Emperor's Clothes.

Malaysian Pm Calls For Ground Troops In Kosovo

Associated Press Worldstream; April 12, 1999; Monday 08:40 Eastern Time; Section: International News;   Headline: Malaysian Pm Calls For Ground Troops In Kosovo;  Dateline: Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad said Monday that NATO should send ground forces to Kosovo to protect the remaining ethnic Albanians there from Serb atrocities [sic!].

In his first reaction to the NATO airstrikes on Belgrade, Mahathir said that Malaysia fully supported continuation of the military actions until Yugoslav President Slobodan Milosevic complies with demands that he halt military action in Kosovo.

He urged NATO to intensify its efforts to bring an end to the Serb actions in Kosovo.

Mahathir made his call as foreign ministers from NATO countries converged in Brussels on Monday in a show of unity against Milosevic as alliance airstrikes continued for the 20th day.

Mahathir spoke just before leaving the hospital where he had stayed for 10 days with a lung infection.

In this Season of Generosity Remember...

Emperor's Clothes!

[To make a donation]

It is traditional during Hanukkah and Christmas to give to the needy. The New York Times runs a daily feature in December called "Remember the Neediest," featuring cases of the Deserving Poor.

There is nothing shameful about poverty; some of the finest people have tried it. So we at Emperor's Clothes are not ashamed of our condition. And we are Deserving. We refuse to adjust our conclusions to fit anybody's correctness. Rather, we study and we base our analyses on the facts we uncover. When studying the Middle East led us to change our views on the Israel-Arab issue, some expected us to tone down our criticisms of US foreign policy. We didn't. We are stubbornly honest therefore we are poor.

Our only income comes from readers' donations. If you approve our unfashionable approach, even if you sometimes disagree with us, then as you enjoy this holiday season, think of us: poor but honest. We have several projects hindered by lack of cash. Your donation will be a great help, and much appreciated!

Our best is yet to come.
