"Kosovo, è il primo:
L'UCK consegna agli italiani
deposito di armi"

PRISTINA Un comando locale dell'Uck ha
consegnato pochi minuti dopo la mezzanotte di ieri ai militari italiani
della Kfor il primo deposito di armi. La consegna è stata preceduta da
una breve cerimonia che si è svolta nella base di Irzniq (Kosovo
sudoccidentale), nel corso della quale un picchetto di guerriglieri
dell'Uck ha consegnato simbolicamente sei mitragliatrici ad un picchetto
di militari italiani, ricevendo in cambio le nuove divise del "Kosovo
Corps," l'organismo di protezione civile nel quale l'Uck dovrebbe
trasformarsi. I soldati italiani della Brigata multinazionale Ovest
hanno dunque assunto il controllo e la vigilanza del grande deposito di
armi di Irzniq, nel quale nei tre mesi precedenti l'Uck ha raccolto 2500
fucili, 300 mitragliatrici, 200 mortai, 30 cannoni, 6 milioni di
cartucce, 30 mila granate, 300 mine e oltre 800 chili di esplosivo. Il
comandante della base, Gezim Ostremi,
alla domanda se facesse ancora parte dell'Esercito di liberazione del
Kosovo, ha risposto, dopo aver
guardato l'orologio: "È passata mezzanotte, quindi siamo
Kosovo Corps". La cerimonia
di consegna è avvenuta mentre non si ha ancora notizia dell'avvenuta
firma dell'accordo sul disarmo e sulla smilitarizzazione, prevista per
ieri mattina alle 10 a Pristina e poi annullata per un improvviso
irrigidimento dei vertici dell'Uck.
